I’m Mrs. Ami Smith. I love serving at BCS! I enjoy teaching middle schoolers and supporting them as they walk through what is often a difficult period of life. One of my favorite things about being at Bethlehem Christian is the reassurance that comes from knowing that Christ is at the center of all that we do. We pray with our students, we go to God’s Word for wisdom and guidance, we lovingly come alongside our students and their families. A bit about me personally - as I child I lived in many places, but spent the most time in Idaho. My parents divorced when I was young, and both remarried while I was in middle school. At that point, both returned to the faith, for the first time making church attendance a priority whether I was “at home” with my mom, or “visiting” my dad. In 8th grade, I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior. Upon graduating from high school in Idaho, I decided to attend Rider University in New Jersey, to be near my dad and his side of the family. I graduated from Rider with a B.A. in Psychology, after having taken many classes on learning and the brain. Immediately after graduation, God called me to teach at a Christian school. After taking some time off and then working part time in a tutoring center following the birth of my oldest child, God very clearly laid the path to bring me to Bethlehem Christian School. I’m happily married to my husband Dana, and we have 3 children, all attending BCS. A favorite verse of mine is Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
